Becky is right on about the bad service. Although we were promptly seated by the hostess, our waitress didn't show up to welcome us and take drink orders for several minutes. After we ordered drinks she disappeared and it wasn't until maybe 10 or 15 minutes later that she finally brought our drinks. We were all ready to order when she brought the drinks but she darted off so fast that we didn't just a chance. Another 10 minutes later or more we finally ordered our food. We had hoped that after ordering the waiting game would be over, but no, unfortunately it was not! We waited what seemed like 20 or 30 minutes before our lunch finally came from the kitchen. Thankfully when our food was finally served up, it was hot and tasted good. I had a steak with shrimp, steamed veggies and mashed potatoes and everything was good. The mashed potatoes could have used some butter, because they were pretty dry, but everything else was good. Back to the bad service, after serving our food we saw our waitress disappeared. Gone. Vanished. We saw her a few times here and there but mostly she was hiding in the back somewhere, ignoring her tables and ignoring us. We desperately needed drink refills at one point during the meal and managed to flag down the hostess who was helping clear tables. We asked if she could grab us some refills which she promptly did. Moments later our waitress appeared and said something like, "Oh... guess you needed refills..." Maybe the experience we had and the experience Becky had at Applebees in West Jordan was a fluke. Maybe they are usually on point with customer service and the bad experiences we had were unusual. I don't know. What I do know is I won't be going back to give this Applebees another chance.

The food was good. Service was weak at best. After waiting for some time for the server to come by, we had to ask for soup refills after having told the server we wanted to try several different "flavors" of soup. We were there for about an hour and 15 minutes and I never got a refill on my diet coke. We had paid the check and tip and then since we were no longer "needed", we were ignored completely.

Both other reviews were right on the money. We came in on a Monday night with a party of 12, there were two other tables occupied in the whole restaurant. It took us 30 minutes to get our drinks and another 30 to get our food. The servers were pleasant but they were terribly slow. The manager came out and apologized twice for the long wait times but there was no change in service. The food was food and hot, but the service made the experience quite unpleasant overall.

I used to love Applebees, but they have gone way down hill. This location has terrible service. Barely saw the waitress, never got a refill on my drink, and we had to retrieve our own high chair for our kid. The food tastes pre-made/reheated and doesn't look anything like the pic on the menu. It will be a long time before i ever try ANY Applebees again, especially this one since there are so many better choices in the area. Chili's, Costa Vida, Rumbi's, etc.

Worse service ever! Our waiter took forever to get our order, and bring it out. Didn't get any refills, and had to ask to get our drink brought out for our baby. Even the manager was no help. We asked for something, and he walked off and I saw him standing by the bar. I could go on and on about how miserable my experience was. I wouldn't go back there at all. F

This location just got a face lift so we thought we try it out again... Unfortunately same slow service.... Took 15 minutes to get a beer and wine... thought the food might come first...! Still waiting for the food... To many other places to spend your money...this place just doesn't want it...

Went to Applebee's first time There I say nine years.Service was kind of slow. Took a few mins to be seated. No host was standing in the front. But someone came and set us. Waitress was there but didn't come by to often to check on us. Food came in a good amount of time. Food was tasty. Did take a while for her to come back and get check. Other than that I would return. If still open. That was another thing. Couldn't figure out why all decor had price tags for sale through out the Resturant. Was going to ask but by the time waitress came back it slipped my mind. My drink was really skinny hahsh it lived up to its name and it was very tasty!!

We went to Applebee's because of a coupon card we had and we hadn't been there for some time, and never at this location. I had the salmon with potatoes and veggies (it was zucchini and spinach). It was great! My wife had a salad that she loved also. We thought that the waiting staff was a little bit too laid back. For example ,we didn't get our silverware until after the food was served, and there wasn't a lot of personality involved. We would go back again for the food, for sure.

Got the fish and chips for lunch because I figured that couldn't be screwed up too bad. Wrong. The fish was cold and dripping in oil and the breading was soft. It came with a few fries and I do mean few (like 7 or 8). To top it off the tartar sauce for the fish tasted rancid.

Nice people but slow service and food is sub par. I love Applebee's and this location is not u to par with the rest of the franchise.

My experience was not the best when I walk in to the restaurant two young host were talking I waited to be notice after a few minutes I said to them sorry to bug you but we need a table for two they both look bug I should said one of the female host took two menus and said follow me we got seated at the bar side tables we waited for 12 min exactly and finally the bartender came we already knew what to order and we place our order it took another 25 min for us to get our appetizer horrible horrible customer service experience food was ok my husband steak a little Burned I don't think we will be back soon and by the way manager never came to the table

The hostess is supposed to give a first impression of a business. I should have remembered that when going here. The hostess barely looked up when we came in. Dismissed us as she threw our stuff on the table. I ordered the 7oz sirloin. It was so salty I couldn't eat it. Our waitress was put out to get us water refills. The manager never came by to check on us. I won't be back.

I agree with my fellow Yelpers. Service here definitely needs some work. It took way too long for our drinks and entrees to come out. Another little irk of mine is that 30 minutes after we were seated, the manager came over and asked if we could move tables because my friend's baby's car seat was blocking the walkway. We shouldn't have been seated there in the first place when we requested a sling for the baby. As far as the food goes, it's a chain restaurant, so they offer regular American fare with a mediocre to decent taste. I had gotten the 2 for $20 deal with buffalo wings to start, steak for my friend, and the riblet basket for myself. My friends steak was cooked well done, but it had been ordered medium. The riblet basket I had was super salty. I think the highlight of the meal was dessert. We had the triple chocolate meltdown which is fudge filled chocolate cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

About Applebee's

Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak.
